The Peoples Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) has just launched the worlds biggest amphibious assault ship, codenamed Type 076. It entered the water last Friday (December 27). This addition right before the new years show China's goal on rivaling and eventually beating the US Navy. The ship was named the Sichuan. The ship is expected to enter service within the next year.
